Ballet Classes
Ballet is the foundation for all dance forms and does much to give students grace, poise, balance and a way to fully express themselves. The graded ballet curriculum begins with age 6.
Pre-Ballet I and II: Pre-Ballet is designed for students who are ages 3 to 6. Pre-Ballet classes teach basic dance skills and encourage creative movement and improved coordination, timing, balance, rhythm, poise, grace and self-expression. Songs, dance and musical games make Pre-Ballet both educational and enjoyable. Pre-Ballet meets for 45 minutes each week.
Ballet and Pointe: Beginning at age 6, students are introduced to a graded ballet curriculum. Pointe work begins when a student has reached Grade 3. An audition is required for placement and enrollment in our graded ballet classes.
Tumbling Classes
Tumble students will begin with floor and mat exercises and progress through tumbling skills. Greater flexibility is acquired and body conditioning is emphasized. Classes are leveled Beginner, Intermediate, Advanced and TOP GUN.
Beginner Tumbling Classes are for entry-level students who have limited, or no tumblin experience.
Intermediate Tumbling Classes are for students who have had a couple of years of training. (An intermediate tumbler has mastered a back handspring and is working on consecutive back handsprings.)
Advanced Tumbling Classes are for students who have acquired proper technique and strength through years of training and exercise. (An advanced tumble student has mastered consecutive back handsprings.)
Top Gun is a class for elite tumblers. These students have mastered a back tuck without a spot.
Strength Building is a class that is recommended for students who are enrolled in an intermediate or advanced tumble class or a dance class of level two or higher.
Jazz Classes
Jazz is a really fun form of dance. Students are introduced to specific jazz techniques using popular music to provide the rhythm. Better body conditioning is acquired through exercises done in this lively and energetic class. Students must be at least 6 years old to participate in this program.
Modern and Contemporary Classes
Modern dance combines both ballet and jazz techniques and expresses musical compositions through movement. Modern is a contemporary style of dance with a technique based on weight, strength control, breathing, balance and movement.
Tap Dance Classes
Tap teaches rhythm, timing and balance using modern and inspiring music. Our tap curriculum is graded to accommodate various age and competency levels.
Drama Classes
Drama classes are back for the summer! Drama helps students to develop discipline skills and physical control of their bodies. These skills directly affect the ability to express emotions, thoughts and ideas.
Hip Hop Dance Classes
Hip-Hop Dance is an energetic and “really pumped” form of jazz dance. Popular up-beat music is used to choreograph the “latest moves.” Students must be at least 6 years old. Hip Hop classes meet for one hour each week.
