Are You Interested In Performing On Stage?
Commitment and Dedication are required of all members of the Performing Companies at Sugarloaf Performing Arts. Below are the requirements of members.
All prospective members are required to audition for a company position.
Junior intermediate dance and Tumble company members are required to attend a minimum of 4 hours of classes a week at Sugarloaf Performing Arts.
Senior Dance Company Members are required to attend a minimum of 7 hours of classes a week at Sugarloaf Performing Arts.
Dance Company Members must attend graded ballet, jazz and modern classes. All members must be in Ballet II or higher.
Tumble Company Members must attend tumbling, jazz and strength building classes.
Dance Company Members must attend choreography camp in August.
Members must attend the Choreography Camp in the Fall. During these two weeks Sugarloaf Performing Arts hires choreographers to set pieces on the company.
Members must be dedicated to attending all classes and rehearsals during the season. A strict absentee policy will be enforced.
Members must be available to maintain their membership throughout the entire season, which will end with a June Recital.
Members can not be in a performance capacity with any other dance troupe or performance company without
prior written approval. (Participation in school related groups is excluded from this policy as long as scheduling does not present a problem.)
Members, and parents of Members, must maintain appropriate behavior, good sportsmanship, and a positive attitude.
